Blum hired by Lockheed Martin

          Merriman T. B. Blum, formerly of Oshkosh, has accepted the position of systems engineer with the Lockheed Martin Corporation of Palmdale, Calif.

          Blum is a recent honors graduate in aerospace engineering of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of California Los Angeles.

          In an email, he wrote that he will endeavor to keep the 19th rendition of the U-2 reconnaissance aircraft flying, as that program has been extended to 2020.

 
JCC hires Bradshaw
to direct Pilates

          Lorraine Bradshaw of Mequon has been hired as the new Teva Pilates director at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center. Bradshaw has taught Pilates classes at the JCC since 2010.

          Born in Ormskirk, England, Bradshaw came to the United States in 1974. She has a B.A. in linguistics from the State University of New York-Binghampton and an associate’s degree in buying and merchandizing from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Collum to teach at
Viterbo University

          According to the synagogue bulletin of Congregation Cnesses Israel in Green Bay, Melissa Collum has become a professor at Viterbo University in La Crosse.

          She will join the department of history and teach courses in modern American history and women’s history.

          The bulletin also reports that Collum had a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship this past summer that allowed her to go to the National Archives in Kansas City, Mo., to research the lives of black slaves held by Native Americans before the Civil War.
