Sunday, Jan. 14 marked 100 days since Oct. 7, when Israelis and others were taken hostage. Volunteers at Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah spent 100 minutes on Jan. 14, dedicated to the hostages and the Jewish people. In this photo, volunteers at Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah created charity gifts to give to Israeli soldiers, for them to wear or carry. This mitzvah provides extra protection for the soldiers, who will eventually give the Milwaukee charity away.
Rabbi Wes Kalmar, who leads Anshe Sfard Kehillat Torah, in Glendale, marked 100 days of captivity for hostages held in Gaza, when spoke to congregants about the war and the hostages on Jan. 14. He and members of his congregation dedicated themselves to thinking, praying, learning, calling and doing acts of chesed in an effort to bring them home.
